Fish Time in Tennessee!

FISH FRY HERE WE COME!!

With April now in full swing it is time to get ready for Fish Fry and all of the awesome and exciting events that come with it.

Each event is one that you will not want to miss! There is even something for everyone! There is a carnival and small fry parade for the kiddos to participate in. There is a fish tent for food and it is delicious fun for everyone. Of course you can’t forget that the dances and art and crafts show will be exciting for kids of all ages. Then the end of the week is topped off with a Grand Parade for the entire community to watch.

The 5K starts at 8 am on April 20th and is perfect for all of the runners!

Not a runner? That is a-okay! At the same time over on volunteer drive, you can check out a fascinating car and bike show! There will be cars and bikes from ALL over!

Can’t make it to the morning events? No big deal! Later that same night, at 7 pm you can take a family trip to the Henry County fairgrounds and watch the demolition derby!

On April 22, take your family to downtown Paris and join in on the Kick-Off Street Dance!

If you're looking for a fun evening full of adrenaline take a trip to the Henry County Fairgrounds and ride carnival rides while eating the yummy cotton candy, funnel cake, and corn dogs. The carnival is open April 23 - April 28 at select times (see schedule below).

If you had fun at the Kick-Off and want to do more dancing, don’t you worry! April 23, there will be a country dance at the Henry County Fairgrounds!

Of course… you can’t have the fish fry without the fish tent! On April 24 at 5 pm the Fish Tent is open for action! It will be open all week through April 27 from 11 am to 9 pm! Get some fish, beans, hushpuppies, fries and so much more! Plus you’ll get to meet the countless volunteers and members of the community who help out! One final bonus is the cute fish fry posters hung from floor to ceiling on almost every wall.

Do you love church life and are proud to be a member? Come back to the Henry County Fairgrounds on April 24 for a good ole’ fashioned Christian Concert! It starts at 7 pm!

Feeling crafty or maybe just curious? April 24 - 27 you can view countless arts and crafts at the show. This event is also held at Henry County Fairgrounds, but has varying times, so be sure to check the schedule for the day you’d like to go!

Fish Fry could not be complete without the Fish Fry Grand Parade! Starting at 10 am, East Wood street will be packed with viewers and vendors! Then of course come the parade floats and participants! Make sure to find your seats early, or you may miss out on all the fun! (PRO TIP: bring your lawn chairs or blankets for more comfort than the concrete or grass will offer). Of course, the parade is showcased on tv on the PBS channel if you cannot make it.

YEEHAW!! Heard that before? Sure you have. But have you heard it at the championship bulls and barrels showdown? For two nights (April 26 -27) you can stomp on over to the Rodeo Ring at the Henry County Fairgrounds and take a “gander” at all the horses and riders both young and old. The showdown starts at 7:30, so you do NOT want to miss out!

If you love the Grand Parade, come back on Saturday and check out the small fry parade put on by our younger generation. There is no current location, but it will start at 10 am.

Love your catfish so much you want to see it race? Take a trip to Downtown Paris on the 27th and watch the catfish races. They start at 11 am on the Courthouse Lawn!

Last but certainly not least, we wrap up the week with the JR. Fishing Rodeo at 11 am. This event will be held at Williams Lake!

What events can we be spotted participating in? Our agents will be out and about at many of the events during this week! Stay up date by checking out our Facebook and Instagram to see where we will be!
